I had previously used my mother's old wooden hoops, and spent a lot of time and became very frustrated having to rearrange my cloth. This hoop is very sturdy and allows me to spend more time actually cross-stitching. It's very easy to tighten and doesn't hurt my fingers. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in cross-stitching.
