I opened the kit this morning and it took me 2 hours to just untangle the thread. I haven't even started sorting the colors but, just looking at the thread, I can tell that is going to a challenge itself. This is the first and last time I will buy a Bucilla kit. I will stick to Dimensions from now on.

(More customer reviews)I've just started learning embroidery and cross stitch, and I had a lot of fun with this kit. The stitches include half cross, french knots, chain stitch and back stitch, so I learned a lot. The stitches required anything from one thread to four threads at once, and sometimes mixed two colors together, something I had thought about trying. The instructions were helpful with everything from stitch types to framing, and the chart was very detailed so I could see exactly where the chain stitches started and stopped. The thread was beautifully shaded and the finished product is amazing. I can't believe I managed to produce this with my pitiful beginner skills.
I haven't done that many kits, but this one took me about three months to complete in my spare time.
Well worth every penny. I will be looking for more kits by this manufacturer.

(More customer reviews)If you're not a dyed-in-the-wool cross-stitcher, this is for you! Most of the piece is already beautifully painted in soft colors. The areas that you stitch are marked, you do not have to count anything. As a long-time stitcher I felt I could have done with more stitch detail, (i.e.- it was very easy to work!) but I can add colors and do some additional stitching on it but it is not necessary, it is a beautiful piece just as is. This would be awesome on a little girl's bedroom wall! And the adorable girl on it is just darling, a real cutie. I enjoyed stitching this, enjoyed giving it to our 4-year old grand daughter, and love seeing it in her room as a reminder Grandma's always thinking of her. Very very cute. You could frame it in almost any soft color and it will look perfect.

It is still b eautiful and any mistakes are easy to hide or account for without changing the appearance. I'd recommend this one for moderate cross-stitchers as I believe those just beginning with this handiwork would find it too boring to hold their interest for long. For those who have done this sort of thing before, it is easy to do and can be fun.

Tablecloths are nicely made, and when one is finished with the embroidery, ink washes out easily. The 'oblong' can be used on a rectangular table that has rounded corners, too.
