Bobbin Saver Combo - 3 Pack Review

However I had two problems with using it
1) I have more bobbins than fit into the holders
2) I had to find place for it, it seemed to always be in the way
I found an alternative solution that works for me better. I use one of my thread racks like this one 120 Spool Wood Thread Rack - By Threadart for bobbins. I can fit three bobbins on every peg. So I dedicated three rows to bobbins with three bobbin on top of each, organized by color (light, medium, dark on each peg for that color). The colors are easy to see and bobbins are well organized, so when I need a shade I know exactly where to find it. The rack hangs on the wall, so it is accessible but totally out of the way.

It is easy to work with and does not get torn easily. I use it for both quilting and embroidery as the top thread (using another matching in color thread in the bobbin to cut down on overall cost).
This is one of my favorite vari-light colors, the shades of yellow-to-brown blend beautifully. It makes wonderful fall leaves color in my art quilts!

I have used DMC perle cotton for 30 years plus, and feel this thread is as nice if not better. It is a little more tightly twisted than the DMC, and glides through linen fabric with ease.

4 X-Large Spools of White Bobbin Thread. These are 60wt 2ply Filament Bobbin Thread. Each spool has 5000 meters of thread on it. This will last you a long long time and you do not need to worry about running out of Bobbin thread while Embroidering. Each spool is brand new and is individually shrink wrapped to prevent damage from dust. Polyester has little or no lint. Hence your machine will run longer between cleanings. This thread is very shiny appearance, thin, lightweight and yet extremely strong. Embroiders love this since it creates a soft backing, even on dense designs. Many machine quilters like using a filament poly thread in the bobbin. Due to it's slick surface, it works well with metallic threads and heavy cotton threads. The slickness of the filament poly thread does not snag or grab the top thread.
